Great venue! A must visit place.
Překrásné prostředí tohoto barokního skvostu a duchovní stánek.
We were uncomfortable due to a lack of heat in the church.
Kostel sv. Mikuláše, lepší místo pro Mozartovu hudbu snad neexistuje. Jedním slovem - nádhera!!!
Inhospitable venue in every way possible! The most uncomfortable seat for a concert I have ever encountered! It would have felt better to sit on the floor. The interior was very dark such that you could not thoroughly enjoy the beauty of your surroundings, one of the reasons I went to this venue in the first place! The men "working" at the performance were unfriendly to the point of rudeness. Were they trained by the Gestapo? Czechs are not known for their friendliness or politeness and these men lived up this reputation and then some. The man who checked my ticket on my phone did not even say "good evening" no one greeted or welcomed the attendees- the smallest courtesy you could expect. No word of introduction was given of the organist. Immediately, I mean within a second, after the audience applauded the organist at the conclusion, the only light in the front of the church was switched off- a not-so-subtle signal for us to "clear out." But this wasn't the worst thing- one of the men went to the front of the church and clapped his hands AT us- like how you would clap your hands at a flock of pigeons to get them to scatter! Within 5 minutes they had everyone out. Once we were on the outside of the church we could hear the loud clang of the door being bolted from the inside. A final "we can't wait to lock up and go home" from our charming hosts. I spoke with several other audience members while standing outside who expressed my same sentiments- that they had never been to such a cold, unwelcoming, and inhospitable performance. What a shame, because the organist was excellent. We actually spoke to him on the steps outside the church to let him know how much we enjoyed his playing. I was planning to return for 2 more performances between now and the end of December and to bring 2 Czech friends who have never been to a concert there before, but I have already told them about my experience- but I won't be back.
Beautiful church and very good acoustic.
Vybrali jsme místo asi uprostřed a byli jsme spokojeni.
Kostel Sv. Mikuláše na Malé Straně je nádherné místo.
The St. Nicholas church couldn't be better suited for this performance. The interpreters are placed on the right chorus so they can be heard with clarity and the sound quality was incredible. You will be sitting on the wood benches where it is also possible to see all of the artworks. I specially liked the golden hue coming from the windows at the dome, seeing it move around the church while listening to the music was incredible. The only thing I didn't like was the wooden benches themselves, they have something on the back that doesn't allow you to properly rest and after a while it can get uncomfy. But don't let it discourage you from coming!
The church was beautiful and the sound from the musicians was fantastic. It was a very cold night therefore cold inside the church - that's the only reason I did not note the rating as excellent.
Vyšla na nás místa v posledních řadách impozantního sv. Mikuláše a tady už orchestr i sbor akusticky splýval v jeden shluk zvuků.
A beautiful church for the concert!
Program byl pro chram Sv. Mikulase vybran perfektne.
It was so nice place. Compared to St Nicholas Church in old town, I think that the interior decorating and the sound are so beautiful.
Stunning
Banc très inconfortable. Lieu humide.
Beautiful baroque church in the Malá Strana area of Prague
The building is beautiful and it was a privilege to attend a concert in such a well known and historical venue. However, it was very cold and therefore somewhat uncomfortable. I do understand that little can be done about that, but it did detract from enjoyment of the music.
Amazing church. Shame it is not used more for its original purpose.
On a gelé !
The scenario was abosulutely impressive but considering that the concerts takes around 1 hour it was so cold inside the church and some heat was more tan welcome.
Church is under construction, very, very strong spots were shining. We were blinded!
Pity that half of the church was in scaffolding but the front part of the venue was finished and outstanding. Wonderful acoustics. Easy to use website. Shame that two people kept holding up mobile phones to video and photograph the event annoying all the people in the seats behind. Especially as at the booking office there is a sign that stipulates no mobile phones.
Beautiful.
Sublime, émouvant, une architecture exceptionnelle!!!
The church is magnificent. The presence of scaffolding for restoration work did not detract from our visit for the concert. The pews, however, are extremely uncomfortable, so even for a short one hour concert I was desperate to stand up!
Under major renovation and was not the large organ - which has been removed.
Impressive, grand baroque church... but a very cold space, with no heating. Please advise concert audience to make sure to wear warm clothes in the cooler seasons.
Very beautiful place but it's quite cold
It was a lovely church but the interior was covered with scaffolding which rather took away from the venue.
